All Darkness from the Shadow?

Arleve frowned darkly at the carnage in the Tower Square. Shaidar Haran in Tar Valon! This was madness. And why now, why after her trip with the Elitesman Joim to the dwelling of the Skeletal King. What did that daughter of his have to do with the Shadow. There were many types of evil in the world, Arleve knew. All ultimately stemmed from the Shadow she supposed but not directly. Shaidar Haran had spoken, implying the Skeletal King was doing his bidding, a minion to distract those of the Light from the Blight. Could the Shadow be the direct cause?
Both she and Joim had very nearly died that day. With Deionarra trying to escape Tar Valon and then she herself being subdued and handcuffed later by a swordmaster. Grimrak dragging Hadar away from her into the Tunnels. She schooled her features to calmness as she approached the steps to the Tower.
She sensed her Warders in the training yard, close by. She knew their work was important but she needed them.
