The Last defense-line of Tar Valon.. Novices!

I'd like to thank Dezadryk for not murdering me like he did to all those defending mobs. It seemed like I was annoyance more than a threat to him.. but I had to stand and defend Tar Valon!

Novice Emiria's Room
No carpet or rug covers the scrubbed floorboards and the furniture is nothing
more than utilitarian, certainly not chosen for comfort. A narrow bed has been
built against one wall, its mattress covered by a sheet and single blanket, and
across from it stands a small table. A shelf half the length of the table is
mounted on the wall and there are wooden pegs for the hanging of clothing.
There is a small hearth in the back wall and on the wall above the bed a small
hole has been bored through.

A Gallery in the Novice Quarters
The gallery leads north and south from here, following along the short edge of

On a Tiered Gallery
Several more galleries can be seen above making a ring around the courtyard on
the level below this one. The tiers rise upwards in a hollow column toward the
square patch of open sky above the courtyard. A door is in the wall to the
west and the other edge of the gallery is bordered by a stone balustrade. To
the north the gallery continues before turning east and directly to the south
the gallery immediately makes an eastward turn. Southward there is also an
archway opening off to the west and a hallway appears to lead away in that
direction. More doors like the one here line this gallery and those above.

The Gallery Curves
The gallery, with its stone balusters edging the far side and stone wall the
nearer, curves northwards and east from this spot. Gazing up, beyond the tiers
of similar galleries that rise in a high, hollow column skywards, a large
square of open sky is visible. An archway gives entrance to an enclosed
hallway to the west, and further in that direction another, larger hallway
crosses it. A white-painted door faces onto the gallery here from the south.

Passing Beneath a Small Archway
Through the archway, looking to the east, is a stone gallery open to the sky
above and sheltered only slightly by the tiers of galleries above it. The
tiers are layered one atop the next in a hollow column that has as its center
the Novices' Court. To the west, this enclosed hallway continues until it
stops at a large white door.

A wide corridor passes along to the west, tiled with brightly colored tiles.
This smaller hallway is dim and impoverished in comparison with its plain stone
flooring and white stone walls without adornment. To the east, the hallway
passes beneath an archway and stops abruptly at a large white door, the Flame
of Tar Valon emblazoned in its center.

Passing a Side Corridor
A large circlular pattern made up of seven inner rings each coloured the shade
of one of the seven Ajahs of the Tower patterns the floor of this broad
hallway. A smattering of tapestries can be seen hanging on the walls of the
corridor further to the north, however, for the most part the pale stone walls
are bare of decor, the tall standlamps and the occasional golden
lampstand. Leading away to the east is a much narrower and far plainer hallway
than this one, with simple white tiles.

In the Light of a Standlamp
Glowing brightly, a tall standlamp lights this section of the wide corridor.
The walls of the hallway, as it runs to the north, are mostly bare of decor
a tapestry here and there. As the corridor turns to the west, a patterned
edging of raised, golden leaves begins high up on the walls and adds an elegant
touch to the corridor. The floor has a pretty pattern of expanding bands of
colour formed around a rich brown center. There are seven bands in all, each
shaded the colour represented by one of the Ajahs.

A Sharp Turning
The corridor turns sharply, leading to the east and to the south from here.
There is a tall standlamp mounted in the corner and hanging above a small,
decorative table. The tiled floor underfoot makes a pretty design of nested
bands of colours surrounding a crisp white center. White tiles frame the
circular pattern. A border of golden leaves stands out in relief high up on
the walls just below where the walls meet with the ceiling.

Along a Steamy Corridor
Little puffs of steam and heat waft from the room to the east and give the
corridor a slightly humid feel along this stretch. The corridor bends to the
north and to the south. Southward, it turns and provides a windowed view of
the massive Tower Square. To the north it leaves the windows behind and turns
sharply to the east into the interior of the Tower. This seems to be a
much-used part of the floor and the sounds of comings and goings drift along
the corridor from rooms and hallways nearby.

A Window-Lined Corridor
As this long corridor runs to the west, tall windows face southward, looking
out over the large Tower Square. Massive wooden shutters, covered with an
open-holed design of apple blossoms, stand folded back on either side of the
broad windows. Turning to the north, this wide corridor bends away from the
windows and leads deeper into the interior of the Tower. To the east a gold
framed glass door has been set into the wall.

Down a Corridor Filled with Windows
This corridor is broad and long, and the many large windows facing southward,
coupled with the high arching ceiling, make it seem broader still. Surrounded
by crisp white tile on the floor is a large pattern of concentric bands of
colour radiating outwards from a bright yellow center. A large archway in the
northern wall reveals a dining hall filled with long tables. The corridor
continues for quite some distance to the west and to the east it makes a
northward curve, leaving the windows behind.

Filling the length of the southern wall as the corridor runs from east to west,
are windows that stretch from waist-height to nearly the ceiling high above.
Massive interior shutters are folded back against the wall between the
window-frames, each intricately decorated with an apple-blossom design to let
in light when they are fastened during daylight hours. From here a marvelous
view of the Tower Square that spreads out before the building can be had. The
windows and the patterned tile floor with its vibrant rings of colour
surrounded by a crisp white give this corridor a breezy and cheerful look.

Down a Corridor Filled with Windows

Amid Long Dining Tables
The tables filling this room in neat rows are made of a thick and heavy wood,
and are polished until they gleam. Their surface has been sanded smooth and
their tops look nearly white from being scrubbed many times a day with fine
grained sand. Several hundred people can sit down to meals in one sitting
within this room. There is an open archway looking out onto a tiled corridor
to the south and another entrance to the dining hall is in the northwestern
half of the room.

In the Large Dining Hall
Many long rows of tables fill this room with a wide path between the rows
running down the center to allow servants to wait on those eating more easily
and to aid in extricating oneself from those seated. The floor is tiled in a
muted beige and it has been recently mopped, with streaks of damp areas still
drying. Golden lamps on the walls, with small mirrors behind the flames, cast
a warm, cheerful light around the large room.

At the Front of the Dining Hall
The dining hall is immense and needs to be in order to hold all the Aes Sedai,
Accepteds, and Novices who gather here for meals. Long tables, flanked by
benches, fill the room in neat rows. Against the walls are serving stations
where large platters of food can be set out and empty platters placed while
they are waiting to be taken back to the kitchen for cleaning or to be
replenished. Pitchers of water sit at intervals along each table.

At the Main Dining Hall
The dining hall to the east is quite massive and there are tables and benches
enough to seat more than one hundred people at one sitting. The hallway ends
here at the entrance to the dining area, and northward it leads toward the
kitchens and a curving ramp. Just a few steps along the hallway to the north,
another hallway branches away, leading to the west. Solid grey tiles cover the
floor underfoot, showing neither dirt nor dust.

On Gray Tiles
Tiles the colour of an overcast sky are underfoot and cover the hallway to the
west as well as continuing onwards until the corridor ends to the south. A
stone ramp is off to the northwest and the corridor comes to an end there
between the rampway and the kitchens. At the juncture, a notice board hangs
with numerous papers tacked to it. To the east is a large room with
cloth-covered tables, looking to be a dining area for a good number of people.

A Ramp Curves Away from the Hallway
The grey tiles of the hallway curve around the stone ramp that curves upwards
toward the west and downwards to the north. Succulent smells drift from the
large room to the east and the hallway leads off to the south. Another hallway
branches away just a few steps southward and this hallway ends not far beyond
the branching at the dining rooms.

At the Base of a Stone Ramp
A stone ramp curls upwards and away from the tiled corridor, which itself
curves to the west and to the south. Off to the west several doors made of
golden wood face onto the corridor that is slightly narrower in that direction
than it is here and to the south. Southward, another corridor crosses this one
and beyond that is a stone archway opening onto the round Entry Chamber of the
Tower. The floor is tiled in white with a repeating round mosaic depicting the
Flame of Tar Valon in the center, each mosaic showing the Flame in a different
colour of tile. The Flame beneath your feet is blue but the one to the south
is yellow and the one to the west a pretty green.

A corridor with pale green tiles meets with this one from the east and
continues on to the west. This corridor is quite a bit wider than the one that
crosses it. Beneath your feet, the floor is tiled with a background of white
and in the center of the corridor is a large, round mosaic depicting the Flame
of Tar Valon. The Flame itself is a bright yellow. As the corridor continues
to the south beneath a wide archway, there is another mosaic on the tiled
floor, identical that the Flame is a crisp white. Northward is a blue
Flame just before a stone ramp and where the corridor turns to the west.

Passing Beneath an Archway
The ceiling here is of arching stone much lower than the ceiling of either the
corridor to the north or that of the domed round room to the south, and yet it
is still high above you. The archway looks out onto the round Entrance Hall of
the Tower and directly across that open space are the front doors of the Tower.
The doors are open and through them the Tower Square is visible from here.
The wide corridor heading northward from this point is crossed by another just
a bit further along and beyond that it curves to the west past a twisting ramp.
The floor here is tiled in a background of white with a mosaic depicting the
Flame of Tar Valon. The Flame in the center is tiled in white as well,
although an identical mosaic to the north shows the Flame in yellow.

In a Round Entry Chamber
An archway wide enough for nearly a dozen people to walk through side by side
faces onto this large entrance hall from the north and a wide, tiled corridor
can be seen on the other side of it leading deeper into the Tower. Indeed,
archways nearly surround this chamber, each leading a different way. The
chamber itself is very nearly round and it is impressive in size with a
flat-domed ceiling arching above smooth, pale stone walls. The floor of the
chamber has been polished to a high shine and smooth groves have been worn in
the stone by the passage of so many feet. On the opposite side of the chamber,
two massive doors stand open and beyond them are the steps to the Tower and the
impressive Tower Square.

Each step is deep enough to require two strides to meet the next. The White
Tower reaches toward the heavens, pale and beautiful. Intricately carved doors
stand at the top of the steps, wide enough for a dozen people to walk through
them abreast. The doors stand secure and welcoming for there are always people
in need of aid or an answer only Aes Sedai can give and they are wont to arrive
at all hours.

the northernmost edge of Tower Square, with its deep and broad steps leading up

On the Stones of Tower Square
This massive square is made up of large white slabs of stone with smaller
diamond-shaped reddish stones inset into the corners where the larger stones
mesh. The pattern of white and red is quite pleasing to the eye and the square
has the stamp of Ogier make upon it. To the north, the White Tower rises five
hundred feet above the square. It is made entirely of white stone and spans
three hundred feet across at its base. This great public square emphasizes the
deep, broad steps and massive doors of the Tower. Official public buildings
face onto the southwestern and southeastern edges of the square and there are
several broad gates connecting the square to the city streets of Tar Valon.

In the Center of a Massive Square
In the center of this broad square, on the northern edge, stands the tallest
building made since the Breaking of the World, the White Tower of Tar Valon.
It rises five hundred feet into the sky, a glistening pillar of white stone.
People throng this square, however, few venture close to the Tower's entrance,
with most making their way along the edges of Tower Square and crossing its
center toward the southern end rather than the northern. Wide paving stones
cover the square's surface, with smaller diamond-shaped stones that have a red
hue to them inset between the corners of the connecting white stones. The
square spreads out in all directions.

Stepping on Patterned Stones
The paving stones of this huge public square make an interesting pattern of red
and white. Small reddish stones shaped like diamonds make a connecting
counterpoint between the much larger, smooth white stones, one at each corner.
The focus of attention, however, is the incredible edifice that stands in the
center of the northern edge of this square. The White Tower reaches up into
the sky five hundred feet, a glittering and glistening pillar of white stone.
The broad square is bordered by the walled Tower grounds, official public
buildings, and several large gates through which the traffic streams.

On Tower Square Before the West Gate
The West Gate is just steps to the west with its bronze-clad, secondary gates
thrown wide to rest against the wall on either side of the archway. Beyond the
gate is a wide lane leading westward through the city. The Tower Square
continues both north and south from here, following the tall bordering wall and
to the east it stretches out as an immense expanse of white and red stone.
The pattern made by the paving stones is at once eye-catching, with large
squares of glittering white stone set off by smaller red stones, shaped like a
diamond, and inset one to each corner of the larger ones. More than
eye-catching is the breathtaking sight of the White Tower rising up five
hundred feet into the sky, a majestic pillar of white stone. The Tower stands
in the center of the northern edge of the square and it is some distance across
the square to reach it.

Two towers with the flag of Tar Valon waving atop each of their flagpoles can
be seen to the west, marking the western gate- the Darein gate- clearly.
Looking in the other direction delivers a breathtaking view of the White Tower
with many white-topped, domed buildings crouched at its foot. Colliding into
Spirit boulevard from the south is Blue avenue, a road only a third in width of
this road, yet bustling with people and carriages.

Spirit lane is sprawled before you, with trees plotted at intervals between
iron lampposts and tall buildings standing a few paces behind. The buildings
have white-washed walls, with tall, curtain-framed windows pierced through
them. Many of them have balconies, perched high on the front-walls to provide
a magnificent view of the island city. People traverse along the road in a
constant torrent, leaving east and west, to and from the White Tower which can
clearly be seen to the east. To the west, two towers with the flag of Tar
Valon tipping their flagpoles are visible, marking the Darein gate.

At the Darein Gates
The shimmering White Tower of Tar Valon rises into view, dwarfing any
surrounding structures. This region practically exudes Ogier stonemason
skills, with beautifully fabricated walls, buildings and platforms rising all
around. The Darein gates looming before you open out to reveal a milky white
bridge; a bridge made from lacy stone, yet sturdy enough to carry the beasts
and people that frequently cross it. Travel is possible in all directions.

On the Darein Bridge Before the Gates
Twin gates of beaten bronze rear up in the eastern forground, leading the eye
further into the heart of Tar Valon. The city is an awe-inspiring sight to
behold, with wondrous buildings of nature-inspired decors rising in every
direction, and towers that seem to touch the clouds foresting every corner of
the island. This bridge is one of six which are visible, connecting the island
to the mainland. Under the bridge courses the waters of the Erinin, its
swarthy width painting the landscape in a broad strip of shimmering azure and
green. At the other end of the bridge rests the small town of Darein.

On the Darein Bridge
Broad enough for three carts to travel across abreast, the Darein bridge is one
of six great bridges extending from Tar Valon. It is balustraded, with
floral-carved railings and scrollworked edges. The stone from which the bridge
is carved from differs in coloring, often seeming to be pale pink, but changing
to ashen blue, yellow and green, depending on the light it catches. Far below,
snaking along in a wide band of deep blue and green, the river Erinin leads the
eye north and south, into the forested landscape surrounding the island city.
Immediately eastwards, down towards the foot of the bridge, is the bronze
panels of the Darein Gate.

On the Darein Bridge
The apex of the Darein bridge lies to the west, climbing and smoothing out to
form a perfect curve. Looking out across the vista, the focus point of the
surrounding landscape is hard to determine, as two great, conflicting monuments
are easily visible. To the east is the White Tower, the shining stronghold of
the Aes Sedai, while to the south-west rises the raven-black mountain
Dragonmount, its jagged, shadowed bulk climbing into the clouds like a forsaken
fang. Splitting these two great landmarks is the river Erinin, which courses
north and south, eddying around the island city.

The Apex of the Darein Bridge
Forming a perfectly semetrical arch, the bridge underfoot is a marvel all in
itself. It is unsupported and worked with enough piercework and etchings to
seem ephemeral, yet despite its appearance, vehicles and people can often be
seen crossing it. Of the deepest blue and glittering with a thousand, thousand
sparkles, the waters of the Erinin far below compliments the Ogier fashioned
masonry of the island city. At the other end of the bridge rests the small
bridgetown of Darein, its buildings a stark contrast to the flimsy-looking
structures of Tar Valon. Beyond the town runs a carpet of woodlands, and
beyond that rears the shadowed face of Dragonmount.

On the Darein Bridge
Cresting to meet the apex, the bridge offers an unhindred view of Tar Valon in
the east. Like most major cities, the island home of the Aes Sedai is framed
in a great wall, with the buildings and towers within tall to match its
majestic setting. The six bridges extending from the city are as legendary as
the edifices within, with their pale stone beautifully worked with etchings.
Each of the six are unsupported, giving them not only an airy appearance, but a
dangerous elegance as well. Carriages and wagons often frequent them, climbing
them like orderly ranks of insects.

The pale, almost shimmering stone of this broad bridge climbs heavenly in a
graceful arch, its edges worked with arabesque. It is railed and braced with
balustrades, but otherwise, it leaps unsupported, seemingly too frail to even
support itself. Hundreds of feet under the bridge flows the mighty river
Erinin, its azure waters eddying around the majestic island city of Tar Valon.
Tiny from this distance, ships of every color skittle across the slate of blue
water, often catching what light there is to add to the myriad of glitters.
The bridge continues eastwards, ascending to meet a rounded crest.

A large number of chimneys pop up from a small building to the south clouding
the sky with puffs of black smoke. Across from the house sits an open meadow
edged by a small forested area. The grass has grown to about knee high and
reveals a small animal or two if watched closely enough. To the west the stone
road leads onward into the heart of Darein, and to the east it leads to the
base of the Darein bridge.

A large open meadow sits to the north, overgrown with knee high grass and
patches of herbs. Looking closely an occasional animal can be seen crossing
from the forest into the meadow for a quick snack on the sweet flowers. To the
south the sound of metal striking metal emanates from the small building. The
smooth white stone road leads to the west into the heart of Darein. While to
the east the stone comes to an end before meeting the bridge to the grand city
of Tar Valon.

The stone road runs to the east leaving Darein, while to the west a sign hangs
above a large shop. Emanating from the shop is the sound of metal being
pounded upon metal creating a ringing noise. An empty meadow to the north
reveals animals crossing to and from the forested edges. The stone road leads
to the south as it begins to snake through town.

A sword and whip hang from the corners of a sign posted above the building to
the east. To the west a large home sits, surrounded by a white picket fence.
One of the walls of the home is covered with a climbing white rose bush,
accenting the red brick behind it. On the other side of the house a tall tree
sits in the center of a circular flower bed. The flower bed is divided into
sections by lines of dirt, with each section containing differently colored
flowers. The effect creates an oddly colored pinwheel effect about the tree.

Crowding the road on the west side small houses have been crammed together to
accomodate the people of the town. Each house has a small path around it for a
yard, looking closely it looks as if there may be a large back yard but from
here a person couldn't confirm. Across from the houses is a section of
gardens, each containing different vegetables. At the front of each garden
there is a row of rose bushes, matching the color of the houses situated
directly across the road from them.

Lenda's Delicate Baubles
Long flowing tapestries cover the walls blending together creating curtains for
wall coverings. The counter is covered in small glass figurines and other
little trinkets. Sitting on small pillows inside of a glass front cabinet are
Lenda's more precious baubles. Those that are even more expensive sit in a
locked steel chest behind the cabinet. The shop is illuminated by small glass
globes hung from the cieling glowing mysteriously as there is no wick or place
to put the oil to burn.

The evenly laid stone bends here leading to the north, to the last few
businesses and to the west into the heart of Darein. To the south the stone
ceases to give a smooth path and turns into a hard dirt packed road leading
down to the docks. Off to the east a small house can be seen peacefully
sitting at the end of the docks overlooking the river. To the west the hustle
and bustle of business stirs the town to life.

To the north a small building sits with little glass figurines hiding in the
curtains of the windows. Some of the figures look as if they are alive sitting
in the light given off by the lamps in the windows. Looking off to the south a
multitude of houses can be seen, each with their own section of land and each
with their own little garden. The houses to the south sit so perfectly that
they almost appear to be a perfect painting. The evenly laid stone road runs
smoothly to the east and west.

The sweet smell of grapes floats down from the north emanating from a small
drab shop that is dimly lit and covered with an assortment of vines. The noise
coming from the south can be that only of inn life and bar fights, for the
sound of a gleeman telling a tale coating the fight of some drunken fools.
The inn is a large two storey building with a large sign hanging below a second
story window. The stone road runs smoothly to the east and west through the
heart of the town.

To the north grape vines of all assortments have tied themselves in giant knots
denying entrance into the the lucious vineyard, though a few grapes grow on
this side of the mess. To the south sits a piece of the Dew Drop Inn,
decorated with a row of bushes that seperate four blood red rose bushes. The
smoothly lain road leads to the east to the edge of town, overlooking the
forest that surrounds the small town of Darein. To the west the path leads
onward to Tar Valon or down to the docks depending on the path taken.

Trees and shrubs run up to the edge of the road to the west, some spilling over
onto the smooth stone roads. With the roots of the trees so close to the road
some parts have become rough and uneven marring this spot in the street. To
the north the vines of grapes continue to tie themselves in knots creating an
impenetrable wall of thick vines, blocking the path to the inner vineyard where
the sweetest grapes grow. The constant sound of splashing water can be heard
faintly to the south marking the Town Square and only source of water.

Constant motion can be seen in the windows in the small building to the east.
Below one of those windows sits a small sign, the flowing penmanship can be
read clearly. Decorating the yard of the small house are bushes that hang
heavy with thick red berries. Across the street is the Dew Drop Inn, sitting
peacefully away from the edge of the road, surrounded by bramble berry bushes.
The sound of running water emanates from the south from the towns only source
of water.

Jererandra Road
A dense thicket spills over onto the road from the west causing parts of the
carefully laid white stone to become rough and uneven. Sitting across from the
thicket the back door to the inn surrounded by many barrels full of trash,
creating quite a stench. The massive amount of trash produced by the inn has
killed off most of the grass, leaving only patches of weeds for a backyard.
The stone roadway continues to the south leading out of Darein and onto one of
the more traveled roads.

Marking the center of town is a large marble fountain, filling the square with
the sound of water splashing constantly. Though the town square sits away from
the heart of town it is a very busy place due to the fact that besides the
river this is the towns only source of water. A dirt path leads off to the
west leaving the stone road behind, entering into the tall grass before the
forest. To the west sits a small home, with a small garden to one side of the
house that has been well weeded and well kept. The stone road leads to the
south to the edge of town where it connects to the main road.

Tall grass grows to the west, it ripples with each gust of wind almost looking
like a wave in the water. Across from the grass sits only a few houses
contained by fences, and each with their own garden. The smooth stone road
leads to the south to the edge of town where it meets the hard packed dirt

Jererandra Road
A large sign hangs on the building to the east carved with the outline of a
large shoe. In the windows of the shop sit a small selection of shoes and
boots. Across the street from the shoemaker, rests a shop with windows full of
a variety of traveling needs, ranging from lanterns to walking sticks. The
buildings look almost identical except for the difference in signs, both are
small red brick buildings with moss covered roofs. The smoothly lain stone
road runs to the north deeper into Darein, while to the south the stone meets a
dirt road.

To the west very tall grass grows combined with a mixture of bushes and other
plantlife, looking past the greenery reveals the peak of a small house hidden
away from the world. The grass continues around the path making the scene to
the south appear exactly the same only there is no house hidden there. To the
west the smooth stone road runs to the edge of Darein before coming to an
abrupt halt. The path leading to the north enters the heart of the town and
the busy bustle of commerce.

A Path Away from Darein
The stone path leading to the west stops abruptly at some very tall grass and
other greenery, where it turns north leading into the center of town. To the
south the smooth stone road begins to come to an end where it meets a
hard-packed dirt road. Off to the east only a few houses can be spotted, each
circled in by a small fence of some sort, and each with their own little
gardens. Between the houses are large fields of one crop or another that keep
the farmers busy dusk to dawn.

Outside Darein
The path of hard-packed dirt comes to an end here where it meets the begining
of a stone road, though at first it is very patchy it leads north to a solid
road. Tall grass and unpruned shrubbery hugs the edge of the road to the west,
pushing most people to the other side of the road. Across from the shrubs, is
a small house concealed behind a row of neatly trimmed bushes, that act like a
fence for the house. The tightly packed dirt road continues to the south.

their branches skyward, competing with proud leatherleafs and firs. At the
base of the surrounding trees runs a lush carpet of greenery; ferns, flowers
and grasses painting the landscape every hue imaginable. To the south, the
flora thins further, eventually paving way for patches of farmland. In
contrast to the south, the woods in the north knit tighter together, cloaking
the terrain in twilight shadows.

Planted in orderly rows, turnips poking their plume-like tops through the soil
and cabbages with their chubby round crowns can be seen stretching west.
Weeds have been painstakingly picked out and stakes have been pushed into the
dark soil to aid the growth of the plants. Around the crop field runs a
waist-high fence, painted red and weather-battered. Hung from rusted hinges, a
latch-lock gate opens out east, onto a broad highway leading north and south.

Within Thin Woods
Fragmented shadows are thrown every which way in this light forest.
Blackgums, pines and elders make up most of the groves visible from here,
though leatherleafs and a few yews can also be spotted. Along the forest
floor, low shrubs and flowers hinder passage in some direction, but otherwise,
the pathways of the woods are easily navigated. Animal trails, burrows and
nests can be glimpsed in many regions of the nearby forest, often with their
occupants fretting about. Taking a whiff of the air brings images of pines and
other trees, hinted faintly with the smell of blossoming flowers. Looking west
delivers a fair view of Dragonmount, while to the south, terrain covered with a
lush carpet of heather can be made out. East, the woods thin further,
eventually halting before the Tar Valon Road.

Light Woods Around a Grizzled Yew
An ancient yew is the focal point of the scene, its aged branches extending out
over a wide radius around its gnarled trunk. Its roots are entwined with age,
plowed deep into the rich soil and exposed in many areas. Around the yew are
other trees, which although not as proud nor mature as the yew, are tall and
compliment their surroundings. Gapping the spaces between the sparsely
populated woods, tall grasses dabbed with wildflowers bring the earth to
stirring life. The grasses spread to the south, where the terrain is lightly
garnished with a few lonely trees. Coming from the south-east is the fragrance
of wildflowers, while to the east, the sparsely spaced woods gather around into
a lightly sheltered forest.

In Sparsely Garbed Landscape
Most of the earth is dressed in tall grasses, their blades swaying in rhythm
with the winds as if dancing. A few lonely trees and shrubbery decorate the
grassy terrain, but they are widely spread out and offer little protection from
the elements. As a result of the disbursement of the flora, the far horizons
are in clear view. Dominating the skies to the west is Dragonmount, a
shadow-concealed mountain ascending steeply through the clouds. Carried by the
winds that roam this region, the smell of pines is hinted coming from the south
and perfume of wildflowers dominates the senses in the east.

In a Field of Heather
The air is permeated with the sweet and alluring scent of heather that seems to
cover much of the landscape not taken by shrubbery or trees. They add a pale
shade of purple into the scenery, swaying like reeds everytime a breeze passes
through. The trees which dot areas of this tranquil field are low and usually
grouped in pairs or triplets, most tall with leafy boughs. To the north the
field of heather ends, giving way as thicker woods take over, while in the
west, grass and copses of low trees prevail over the gentle terrain.

In Sparsely Garbed Landscape
Most of the earth is dressed in tall grasses, their blades swaying in rhythm
with the winds as if dancing. A few lonely trees and shrubbery decorate the
grassy terrain, but they are widely spread out and offer little protection from
the elements. As a result of the disbursement of the flora, the far horizons
are in clear view. Dominating the skies to the west is Dragonmount, a
shadow-concealed mountain ascending steeply through the clouds. Carried by the
winds that roam this region, the smell of pines is hinted coming from the south
and perfume of wildflowers dominates the senses in the east.

Light Woods Around a Grizzled Yew
An ancient yew is the focal point of the scene, its aged branches extending out
over a wide radius around its gnarled trunk. Its roots are entwined with age,
plowed deep into the rich soil and exposed in many areas. Around the yew are
other trees, which although not as proud nor mature as the yew, are tall and
compliment their surroundings. Gapping the spaces between the sparsely
populated woods, tall grasses dabbed with wildflowers bring the earth to
stirring life. The grasses spread to the south, where the terrain is lightly
garnished with a few lonely trees. Coming from the south-east is the fragrance
of wildflowers, while to the east, the sparsely spaced woods gather around into
a lightly sheltered forest.

Within Thin Woods
Fragmented shadows are thrown every which way in this light forest.
Blackgums, pines and elders make up most of the groves visible from here,
though leatherleafs and a few yews can also be spotted. Along the forest
floor, low shrubs and flowers hinder passage in some direction, but otherwise,
the pathways of the woods are easily navigated. Animal trails, burrows and
nests can be glimpsed in many regions of the nearby forest, often with their
occupants fretting about. Taking a whiff of the air brings images of pines and
other trees, hinted faintly with the smell of blossoming flowers. Looking west
delivers a fair view of Dragonmount, while to the south, terrain covered with a
lush carpet of heather can be made out. East, the woods thin further,
eventually halting before the Tar Valon Road.
